There is sometimes (what I would like to believe to be) a small speculative aspect to what I buy.

Thinking back, there seemed to be quite a few – Saizen REIT (sold), Accordia Golf Trust (holding) and Asian Pay TV Trust (sold). And Bitcoin and Ethereum, of course.

Most recently, it was Sabana REIT.

The news yesterday was that ESR-REIT (ex-Cambridge Industrial Trust) will be acquiring a majority stake in Sabana REIT after the merger with Viva Industrial Trust. ESR is a Warburg Pincus-backed pan-Asia logistics real estate platform.

I think veteran Donald Han is doing a decent job but like what he said, it takes time to steer an oil tanker. I thought that the failed merger talks would have been the end of the story, so this was a surprise. Is there a mega-industrial REIT in the making?
