The month of December is coming, and it is time for the 2015 annual giveaway contest! If you have been visiting my blog regularly, you might have noticed a countdown timer on the top right hand corner of the main page. It is counting down towards 2016!

Every year, I will pick a lucky reader from the everyone who has subscribed to the mailing list. Simple as that.

In 2013, it was Andrew Hallam’s Millionaire Teacher and in 2014, I have selected Invest Lah! The Average Joe’s Guide to Investing. This year, I have chosen Teh Hooi Ling’s Show Me The Money (Book 1) to be given away for free. In my humble opinion, it is a great book for the beginning or novice investor.

Regardless of the investment strategy that you will eventually adopt, this book is full of priceless writings that will benefits most, if not all investors. Even for stock market veterans, the insightful articles serves as an excellent refresher to information that we may have neglected over time.

Show Me The Money (Book 1) – Sound Principles To Grow Your Wealth

$how Me The Money is all about learning how to grow your money. In easy-to understand language, Teh Hooi Ling brings to both layman and seasoned investor important economic concepts and the investment strategies of the world’s leading financial experts. Using real data, Teh shows you how these strategies would have worked in the Singapore market over the years and signposts the lessons to learn and pitfalls to avoid.

Given the cyclical nature of the market, the insights she shares are perennial gems. More than that, $how Me The Money teaches you how to invest in stocks that are most likely to grow in value, how to balance your portfolio so that you have little to fear whatever happens in the market, and how to be ready for the next bull market.

What would be an example of the book’s content? In my (rather popular) previous blog post on a simple way to look at yields of REITs, I referenced an article written by Hooi Ling on The Business Times and yes, the full article is captured in this book as well.

Why Am I Doing This?

Well, take it that I’m giving a little something back to the community and paying it forward. When I first started my index investing journey, countless websites and finance blogs have helped me tremendously. These good folks wrote and contributed without expecting any reward. After reading the book, perhaps you may wish to pass it along to someone else so that they can benefit from it, too.

Besides, it’s the end of the year so let’s all have a little fun together, shall we?

See the past giveaways that I’ve done on the links below =)

Where Do I Get The Book(s) From?

There are many sources. I read a lot, plus many times there are book sales where they are selling at a fraction of their price. Giveaway prizes are almost always in mint, super-new condition. Much better than than the books you see in libraries, for sure.
